Manual reception is the rate-limiting step in your service delivery
A receptionist handling manual check-in takes 4-7 minutes per patient: greeting, finding the patient record, confirming details, collecting the reason for visit, issuing a number, and notifying the doctor. During a busy morning session, this creates a visible queue at the front desk, frustrated early arrivals, and a stressed receptionist. The same information collection done via self-service kiosk takes under 60 seconds — without stress, without waiting for a human, and with 100 % data accuracy since the patient enters their own information. The kiosk does not call in sick, does not take a lunch break, and processes patients at 3:00 AM just as efficiently as 10:00 AM.
Everything you need to solve the problem permanently
NFC National ID Card Reading
MOVO-X kiosks include an NFC reader that reads Malaysian MyKad, Singaporean NRIC, UAE Emirates ID, Moroccan CNIE, and other NFC-enabled national identity cards. Patient data (name, ID number, date of birth, photo) is extracted in under 3 seconds, pre-filling the registration form and eliminating manual data entry errors. For hospitals requiring PDPA/HIPAA compliance, ID data is hashed and never stored in plaintext.
Multi-Language Touchscreen Interface
The kiosk interface adapts to the patient's preferred language from a configurable list. Default languages include English, Malay, Mandarin, Tamil, Thai, Indonesian, Tagalog, Arabic, French, and Spanish. Language selection is the first screen — available in large text and icon format for accessibility. All downstream interactions (service selection, doctor selection, confirmation, ticket printing) render in the selected language.
Multi-Modal Check-In
Patients can identify themselves four ways: NFC ID card tap, phone number entry + OTP, QR code from their appointment confirmation, or biometric face recognition (optional, with consent). Each method retrieves the patient's existing record and pre-populates the check-in form. New patients (first-time visitors) complete a brief registration form that creates their record for all future visits — one-time effort, zero friction thereafter.
Payment Collection
Where facilities collect consultation fees or co-pays at check-in, MOVO-X kiosks support integrated payment: card (tap-to-pay / chip-and-PIN), QR code payment (DuitNow, FPX, Promptpay, PayNow, SADAD), and cash (with bill acceptor module). Payment collection at the kiosk reduces cashier load, ensures no patient escapes payment collection, and eliminates the awkward fee conversation at reception.
Thermal Receipt Printing
The kiosk prints a queue ticket on thermal paper (58mm or 80mm width) showing: queue number, estimated wait time, doctor or service assigned, date and time, and facility contact details. The ticket is the patient's physical reference until called. Receipt reprinting (for lost tickets) is available via the same kiosk with phone number verification. For clinics transitioning to paperless, the receipt can be sent via WhatsApp instead of printed.
