Full definition
QRIS (Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard) is Indonesia's national QR payment standard, mandated by Bank Indonesia in 2019 for all QR payments. Before QRIS, each Indonesian e-wallet (GoPay, OVO, Dana, LinkAja, ShopeePay) had separate QR codes; merchants needed multiple stickers. QRIS unifies — one merchant QR accepts payment from any QRIS-compliant app.
For Indonesian healthcare: QRIS is the dominant patient-payment method for cash-pay visits. Coverage spans most adult Indonesians via the various e-wallet apps. Transaction fees (~0.4-0.7% for healthcare merchants) are substantially below card fees.
MOVO-X for Indonesia deployments integrates QRIS for patient payments at kiosks and counters.
